Ernesto Ruiz Bry

ERNESTO RUIZ BRY

ARGENTINA 1953

One of the defining characteristics of Ruiz Bry is the variation in his style, drawn from the regions he has called home: the Vulcans of the Canary Islands, the history of Aquitaine, the deserts of the Middle East, the colors of Haiti, and now the boiling energy of Miami and New York. From the beginning you can see Ruiz Bry's connection with Mother Nature through his creative application of recycled materials, a theme that is prominent in his latest works

Since early age art was his world, hid grandfather and his aunt were painters and sculptors respectively, Castagnino and Quinquela Martin had great influence during his young age, as the years working together with Alfredo Ces Lara in Spain did in the 90’s.

His work has been exhibited internationally in countries such as Argentina, Brazil, US, France, Spain, Kuwait, Montecarlo, etc. He has earned numerous awards including Le Grand Prix des Arts Contemporains at Aubenas, France, and La Medaille de Paris.

THE EXTRA DEGREE THAT MAKES ORDINARY PEOPLE EXTRAORDINARY

Ruiz Bry dedicate his latest work to athletes and people that are sources of inspiration and examples of overcoming adversity, proof that going the extra mile changes the ordinary to extraordinary.

It is a very limited production due to the size (48 in. x 48 in.) and time that each piece requires, between one and two months.

The collage technique that he uses is the result of years of searching for his artistic identity in a constant evolution influenced by the different countries in which he has lived.

hen working on sport figures his goal is to capture that special moment where the elite athlete knows that he is on the verge of triumph and where this extra effort will fulfill the dreams for which he has prepared himself during a lifetime.

ince the beginning of his artistic career, the use of recycled materials has been a constant in his work. He has taken this to a whole other level in his latest production where the whole work is based on taking magazines that were destined for landfills and giving them another life as collages.
