My mixed-media wall reliefs are inspired by architectural remains of the Ancient Roman world. I interpret remnants of temples, villas, and scenographic walls in multi-surfaced structures. These compositions are derived from photographs taken while traveling throughout Rome, Pompeii, and Herculaneum. This new body of work is an outgrowth of my earlier mixed media photographs.

Layering and surface texture once used are carried forward to the present constructions. I am presently concerned with the process of building a work of art which is more physical a in form and more visually tangible. Applications of wood, plaster, paint, ceramic, and found objects are combined in concert. The work embodies both the objective and the abstract. It transports the viewer to a rich and splendid time in history.
