"Through Their Eyes"

A Virtual Exhibit of Children’s Art Filled with Hopes for the Future

Dear Art Teachers, parents, grandparents,

Though Viridian remains closed to the public we are continuing to show Virtual Exhibitions which can be viewed on our gallery’s website.

We all know that children’s art can be filled with imagination & visions of reality that we lost when we reached adulthood. Too, in these dire times, our children are being adversely affected psychologically and may not be able to express their fears, dreams and hopes about the future in words, but they can in pictures. Viridian would like to give your children, grandchildren and students the opportunity to show their pictures on our website in a virtual exhibition. The exhibit will go online early August.

Here is some basic information:

The Deadline to submit your students’ work is August 1st, 2020 but feel free to send them earlier. All artists must be in school (kindergarten to secondary or high school).

One artwork by each artist will be accepted into the show, but PLEASE email images of art by no more than 5 of youth to: viridianartistsinc@gmail.com. If we have room for more, we will let you know.

Consider photographing the young artist holding artwork in front of them so that they are visible as well! This is not a requirement, so feel free to show only the art if you prefer.

Please use these guidelines for submissions: If you use your i-phone, the medium size image is best.

If necessary, you can adjust images as follows:

File Type: JPG or PNG
File Dimensions: 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side
File Size: Under 5 MB

Please identify each work that you submit with name of artist/ age or grade/school artist attends/title/ media/ size/ price.
And PLEASE, let us know your name and what school your students are from so that we can honor the school and teachers as well as the students.

Art in any media can be submitted and we will accept the first 50 artists’ artwork. All art should be for sale and priced $75 or under. 40% of the proceeds from sales will be donated to the Food Bank of NYC & 50% will be paid to artist.
