She began her life as an artist in childhood while studying music and art in the Washington, D.C. suburbs. She majored in Fine Arts at American University where she graduated with a BA degree. She taught art in the Alexandria, Viriginia public schools. Prior to moving to NYC she exhibited paintings and drawings extensively in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.
In New York she studied photography at the Art Lab on Staten Island and also continued her printmaking studies there. She has exhibited her photographs and etchings/lithographs locally and in some shows in Virginia. She has picked up where she left off as a painter and considers it her primary media.
“Creating art nourishes my soul and makes my heart sing. I would be bereft of all meaning were I not able to continue with a brush or brayer in hand or with a camera to the eye.”
