This artwork is my homage to the Hellenistic sculpture, Winged Victory, that is on display at the Louvre since 1884. I have been fascinated by the image of a woman with wings from the time I learned about the sculpture, in my Art History class at Pratt Institute. It represents freedom from earthbound restrictions.
